Frequently Asked Questions
Who Are E-Bikes Good For?
Our E-Bikes are a great experience for everyone. No matter what your level of fitness, an E-Bike has you covered. The pedal assist makes cycling a level playing field, meaning that all riders can cycle together at the same speed. For the more professional riders, the electric assist means that you can ride further and for longer.
Do I Have To Pedal?
All of our E-Bikes are pedal assisted, meaning that yes, you do have to pedal. The motor will only kick in while you are peddling. Our NCM Moscow bikes have 6 levels of assistance which means you can choose how much assistance you require. In the UK, the law requires E-Bikes to have a maximum speed of 15.5mph while under power. This doesn't mean that you can’t exceed 15.5mph, however you will be required to keep accelerating under your own pedal power as the motor will disengage at this speed.
How Long Does The Battery Last?
This depends on a number of things but most of our bikes are capable of doing 120km which means it’s unlikely you will ever have to worry about the battery. The battery life will depend on factors such as the rider's weight, how much pedal power the rider is willing to put in and how many hills there are on the route.
What Do I Need To Hire A Bike?
To rent a bike, we will need a photographic ID and a copy of a debit card or utility bill. (ID must be a passport or Driving licence and Utility bills must have matching name and address) What Happens If The Bike Is Damaged or Stolen - As you can imagine, our E-Bikes are not cheap so we do ask all of our customers to treat them as their own. Of course accidents happen and we will never charge you for punctures or tyre damage. However, should you seriously damage the bike or if it is stolen, you will be required to pay for it.
Are The Bikes Suitable For Children?
Yes, of course. However, it is illegal for children under 14 to ride E-bikes on public roads. Our NCM bikes are also only suitable for riders over 5’2.
